With the recent Coronavirus pandemic, tennis has not been spared from the widespread sports cancellations. Despite this, Roger Federer managed to rake in $106.3 million to put himself at Forbes highest paid athlete for the past year. With previous top earners Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi having salary cuts, Federer's enormous endorsements propelled him to the top. Some of Federer's top sponsors include blue-chip brands like Rolex, Wilson, Mercedes-Benz and Uniqlo just to name a few.
Fellow ATP players Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Kei Nishikori joined the list at 23rd, 27th, and 40th place, respectively.
WTA players Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams were the only female athletes to make the list at 29th and 33rd place respectively.
